A series of short, episodic skits to promote the features of Microsoft Office 365, which the Housing Authority transitioned to beginning of 2017: Episode 1: Great Expectations (to promote OneDrive) Episode 2: Homeland Wall (to promote Delve) Episode 3: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Talents (to promote Yammer) Episode 4: The Good, The Bad & Casey (to promote Video) The purpose of the project was to raise awareness among staff about the benefits of using Office 365 in an entertaining and comedic way. Inspired by TV series like The Office and Utopia, the episodes were written and filmed to show the contrast between technophobe Steve and candid Sav, and the hilarious situations they get themselves in. I was involved in the overall creative concept, planning, scriptwriting, casting, props and post-production. Work completed while employed by the Housing Authority. Corporate Values 2016

In early 2016, the Housing Authority launched a new set of corporate values. Rather than a standard “head-to-camera interview” approach to promote them, we opted to do a stop-motion animation. The goal was to create something fun, universal and reusable across many platforms. By focusing on just objects to bring these new values to life, we were able to demonstrate the values in an abstract and interesting way. The use of classic board and card games as props were an instant hit with staff. They loved the playful references, and the Scrabble pieces allowed us to highlight important information in an engaging way. I was involved in the creative direction, including the overall idea development, planning, storyboarding, filming and post-production (editing, sound effects and music). A video to raise awareness about Axiom, a program that will be rolled out later this year to renew the Department’s commercial systems. Rather than opting for a straight-forward informational video, we wanted to show how we embraced the changing technologies of the day with a story: that Axiom was just a natural part of the evolution of systems at the Department. The video showcases the Department from the 1910s, 30s, 50s, 70s, 90s and finally to the future, showing how we’ve adapted to keep ourselves current, in order to continue delivering our vision of opening doors for WA families. I was involved in the creative direction of this project, including concept development, planning, storyboarding and post-production (visual effects design, sound effects and music). We outsourced the cinematography and production design, and the result of the finished video was fantastic. The video garnered great feedback from staff across the organisation. Work completed while employed by the Department of Housing. (Contact Helen for preview password)

A comedy piece about how to make damper, filmed in the form of a cooking demonstration, to celebrate NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee) Week in 2014. The two talents Patrick and Angela, who were staff from the Department of Housing, were chosen to play out the fun banter between cooking mentor and mentee. Angela challenges Patrick on his traditional ways of cooking damper, while Patrick shares his own stories about eating damper as a kid. I was involved in the editing and post-production (music and sound effects), while contributing to the overall concept and art direction of the film. The Future Is Ours

A video to encourage staff to embrace the change journey the organisation is undergoing. Its key message is to show that we are constantly changing, just like how nature evolves with time. Vivid imagery were used to draw the parallels between evolution and the Department’s changes over the course of history. A part of the challenge was to create something other than just the standard corporate video. We played around with various concepts as a team before the idea of evolution came about. We only had three weeks to produce the video, before it was shown at an organisation-wide launch event and subsequently to external stakeholders. My role in this project was in the conceptualisation and overall creative direction. Work completed while employed by Department of Housing. (Contact Helen for preview password)
