A full symphony orchestra is a magnificent sight, but it is also often a daunting one for the first-time listener, with eighty or more musicians playing different instruments.
The IFF, or Instrumental Fact File, will therefore be of immense help to beginner musicians and interested teenagers, categorizing the main instruments of the orchestra into a fun and interactive 'database'.
There are four basic "families" of instruments: Strings, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion. You can either browse each instrument via these categories, or browse alphabetically through the Index.
